X-Server refused


Ich hatte nach Anmeldung als Root mit su und dem Start einer Anwendung folgende Fehlermeldung:

root@Pinux:/home/roen# firestarter
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
(firestarter:4890): Gtk-WARNING  cannot open display:


1. Lösung:

Anstelle von su ist sux zu nutzen.

Erklärung aus dem #kanotix-IRC-Channel:
"<slh> sux ist ein Wrapper für su, der sich auch um die x11 magic cookies kümmert"

2. Lösung:


Als angemeldeter User:
# xhost +


Dann der su...
Als neuer User:
# export DISPLAY=:0.0

3. Lösung:


In die Datei /etc/X11/Xsession folgende Zeile eintragen:
xhost +local:

Dann habe ich z.B. mit meinem "Root Midnight Commander" in der KDE-Konsole automatisch Zugriff auf X.
